Seena Chriti graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts in Mexico City. She won a scholarship to study Food and Hotel Management, as well as French, in Monaco, Monte Carlo for a year. While there, she worked in hotels as part of her program. In school, she took courses on film, food and literature, photography, and art history. Later, while living in Guatemala, she completed a Masters degree in Social Science.
Seena considers herself a food spokesperson and storyteller. As we all know, food is a familiar and essential aspect of our culture and daily lives.
Food can be found in every celebration and always has a meaning and symbolism that explains it. Seena has always been fascinated by all the stories that food has to say, and how it can be a universal way of communicating with people. She firmly believes that food opens the door to every country.
Professionally, Seena's main focus has always been FOOD and CULTURE. Her many contributions allow her to share her love and wonder for the intricate relationship that food has with many aspects of every culture in the world.
She has written food articles for a wide variety of publications. She also organized food and film festivals, and food and cultural events. While in Mexico, she worked in a pastry school, then she owned a bread business in Guatemala, and later, in Miami, she worked in wines and in a gourmet food company.
Seena was a permanent guest for the show VME Cocina on the VME TV channel (PBS in Spanish), for which she was the food researcher. Her appearances were full of information and facts about the symbolism of food. She researched, wrote, cooked, produced and delivered all her segments.
Seena wants to travel the world talking about the food people eat in their festivals, celebrations and in their regular life, and to understand what it means to them.
She is the creator, excecutive producer, writer and host, of a new series called FOOD WONDERS that will be aired on PBS, Legacy TV, Walk TV, DR, TV, and America One.
The main purpose of FOOD WONDERS is to walk the audience through different cultures and learn about the food they eat. FOOD WONDERS shares the symbolism, history and meaning of cultural food, capturing the stories that food has to say.
